The Managing Director Marsabit Water and Sewerage Company- MARWASCO Hon. Stephen Sora Katelo today held an inaugural Entry meeting with team from the Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) as part of preparations for the audit of the financial year ending June 30, 2026.
An entry meeting, is the initial formal meeting between auditors and the auditee, marking the start of an audit. Its purpose is to set the stage for the audit, ensure clear communication, and establish a collaborative relationship between the parties. Team members are introduced, and their roles are communicated to the auditee State Department.

The meeting, held at the MARWASCO’s headquarters, marks the beginning of the annual audit process, which seeks to promote transparency, accountability, and sound financial management in the use of public resources.
The OAG audit team explained the sequence of events to be followed by the auditors and the auditees in the Company. They outlined the audit plan and timelines and underscored the need for timely provision of documents and responses from the Company to facilitate a smooth and efficient process.

Speaking during the meeting, MD Katelo welcomed the OAG team and assure the audit team of our full cooperation. “Management has designated focal persons within the various departments to facilitate timely provision of information, records, and clarifications that may be required during the course of the audit. We are committed to ensuring that the audit process is conducted smoothly, professionally, and within the stipulated timelines.”
